A deflected free kick from midfielder Chris Clements earns the Pitmen a hard-fought point at home to Leamington this afternoon in the Zamaretto League. After falling behind to a first half goal to former Hednesford loanee Luke Corbett, the Pitmen came back into the game in the second half, with the impressive Clements firing home via a healthy slice off a Brakes defender. The frenetic activity in and around Keys Park has continued this week, with two players now confirmed as having left the club. Midfielder Josh Craddock has joined Stourbridge after finding his route back into the first team blocked by a number of impressive summer signings. He was swiftly joined through the exit door by another midfielder, this time in the form of Dave Bridgwater. The summer signing from Redditch United has been released due to rumoured budget cuts. We wish both players well. Yesterday's 5-0 win over Nuneaton Griff saw Newcastle Town qualify for the 1st qualifying round of this season's F.A. Cup, where they will make the short journey down the M6 to face Hednesford at Keys Park on Saturday September 11th, kick off 3pm | ||

Hednesford have clinched the signing of forward Kyle Patterson this afternoon after receiving International clearance for the player, the club have confirmed. The 24-year old, who can play in a variety of positions, has had a tremendously varied career to date, having started out at West Bromwich Albion as a junior. After his release from the Hawthorns, he moved to the United States to link up with St. Louis Lions - his form in four years saw him attract the attention of LA Galaxy, who signed him at the start of last term. He played three times for the Galaxy in 2009, before playing out last term in Sweden at GAIS Gothenburg. He played for the Pitmen in pre-season against Tamworth whilst on trial, and will link up with the side ahead of the trip to Didcot on Saturday. Welcome Kyle! | ||

After two great performances, Hednesford came crashing back down to earth with a poor defeat to Cambridge this evening at Keys Park. Centre back Jimmy Turner has agreed a deal with he Pitmen ahead of Saturday's curtain raiser against Chippenham, the club have confirmed today. The experienced defender has been on trial at Keys Park after leaving crisis club Halesowen Town last term, and adds experience and height to the club's back line. The former Eastwood Town man has played under Bernard McNally before, having played for AFC Telford United a few seasons ago when the former Northern Ireland man was in charge. Welcome Jimmy | ||

Hednesford record their first victory of the pre-season campaign with victory over Burton-based Stapenhill this afternoon. With the departure of striker Craig Marshall and Mark Bellingham still on holiday, the Pitmen struggled to cobble together a forward line, with former Walsall youngster Tom Overfield given a chance up front. The away side had to wait until the second half to take the lead, with Dorryl Proffitt striking his first goal of the new season. Striker Craig Marshall has decided to leave Hednesford and rejoin former club Sutton Coldfield Town, the club have confirmed today. The former Keys Park trainee had only returned to the club in May after a prolific spell in front of goal that saw him plunder twenty five goals last season for Sutton. Manager Bernard McNally will no doubt be back in the market for another striker with the season only a few weeks away, as he searches for a foil for ace marksman Mark Bellingham. At the same time, the club have received a boost with news that centre back Liam Francis has agreed to rejoin the Pitmen for the forthcoming season. Francis impressed at the end of last season, helping the Pitmen to the play offs with a number of strong performances alongside Ben Bailey and Cheyenne Dunkley. He has recently spent a short spell on trial at Hinckley United before returning to Keys Park | ||

Stafford claim the second Chase Cup after an entertaining game at Keys Park sees them edge out the Pitmen. After racing into a two goal lead, Rangers are pulled back courtesy of a Dave Bridgwater penalty just before the break, followed by a classy finish from Chris Clements to level matters in the second half. The Pitmen stepped in to help the Lambs after they were forced to cancel a proposed game with Hednesford's Zamaretto League rivals Halesowen Town. Hednesford supporters today received a huge boost ahead of Saturday's first pre-season game against Stafford Rangers with news that defender Cheyenne Dunkley, on loan from Crewe during the latter part of the 2009-2010 campaign, has re-signed for the club on a permanent basis, penning a one-year deal with the club. Dunkley was a massive success for the club during their late surge into the play offs last term, but failed to earn a contract at Crewe at the end of the season and was surprisingly released. He has turned out for AFC Telford United on trial in the Bucks' opening pre-season friendly a week ago against TNS, but manager Bernard McNally appears to have convinced the teenager that a return to Keys Park is a better option. At 9am this morning, the Zamaretto League revealed their fixtures for the forthcoming season, with the Pitmen facing last season's play off semi final victors Chippenham Town on the opening day at Keys Park. Hednesford then head to Banbury United and Hemel Hempstead Town in away double header, before a home game with Cambridge City. The busy Christmas and New Year schedule sees the Pitmen at home to Halesowen Town on 27th December, before making the trip to Leamington on 3rd January. The Football Association have today released the fixtures for the early rounds of both the F.A. Cup and F.A. Trophy, with Hednesford given home ties in both competitions. The first round of the F.A. Cup has given the Pitmen a tie against either Newcastle Town, Nuneaton Griff or Studley, with the game pencilled in for Saturday September 11th, 3pm kick off. In the F.A. Bernard McNally's first training session of the new season brought together much of his new-look squad, with the significant addition of Halesowen Town midfielder Jay Denny. The aggressive American joins the Pitmen on a one year deal, ending a chase for the player that McNally tried to sign last season. A former Stoke City graduate, Denny has also appeared for Shrewsbury Town, Nuneaton Borough and Leamington amongst others. He has been capped by his home country at every level up to U-20. Hednesford's squad for the 2010-2011 season is shaping up nicely, as manager Bernard McNally continues his recruitment drive with two new signings this week. Talented attacker Alfie Carter has been reunited with McNally after the 29 year-old agreed to join the Pitmen from Blue Square Bet North side Worcester City. Carter can count Walsall, Bromsgrove Rovers, Newport County, Bath City and TNS amongst his former clubs, as well as a successful spell under McNally at AFC Telford five years ago. The other 'newbee' is that of 18 year-old Louis Keenan, a left back who joins the Pitmen from Walsall. He has been attached to Stoke City and Nottingham Forest before joining the Saddlers.
