Highly experienced, much travelled forward who signed for the Pitmen in January 2012 from fellow Evo-Stik Premier League side Burscough

A trainee at Preston North End, Beesley made only two substitute appearances for the club before promotion to the Championship saw him released in the summer of 2000. Upon his release, he joined newly-relegated Chester City, where he was to have a highly productive period. In his first season at the Deva Stadium as they started life in the Nationwide Conference. His sixteen goals during the 2001-2002 season helped save City from a further relegation from the Conference, but under Mark Wright he fell out of favour at the start of the 2003-2004 season

After a short spell at UniBond Premier League side Southport, Beesley was allowed to leave Chester and join Hereford United in December 2003. He struggled to make an impact at Edgar Street, as Hereford finished the season in second place - behind former club Chester and thus finishing in the play-offs. The summer of 2004 saw him make a move to yet another Conference side, with Forest Green Rovers signing him. His spell at FGR was a frustrating one, with injuries his progress. Beesley missed the entire 2005-2006 campaign due to a cruciate ligament injury, and was loaned to Conference North side Lancaster City at the start of the 2006-2007 season to get fit. He was prolific for the Dolly Blues, scoring four in five before returning to Forest Green. The remainder of the season saw him strike up a fruitful partnership with former Hereford striker Stuart Fleetwood, with FGR finishing in a mid-table position

Another Conference side, Cambridge United, was Beesley's next call in January 2008, with the 'U's paying an undisclosed five figure fee to sign the striker. Under Jimmy Quinn, Beesley had a successful 2008-2009 campaign, grabbing eleven goals for the club. However, after only four appearances the following season, he was allowed to rejoin the newly-reformed Chester on loan for a month, a loan that was extended by a further month later on

2009-2010 saw another loan spell for Beesley, with Rob Smith taking him to Blue Square Bet North side AFC Telford United towards the end of the season. With his contract expiring at Cambridge, Beesley was hoping for a permanent deal at the New Bucks Head, but Smith left the club at the end of a disappointing season at the forward looked elsewhere for a deal

That deal came in the form of a contract at Fleetwood Town, newly promoted to the Blue Square Bet Premier. Despite starting the season in favour, he soon dropped down the pecking order, and was loaned out to fellow Blue Square Bet Premier club York City for a month on October 2010. He was also farmed out to another BSBP side, struggling Altrincham, for the remainder of the season in November 2011

After leaving Fleetwood in the summer of 2011, many were surprised to see Beesley make the drop down to Evo-Stik Premier League level, as he made the move to hometown team Burscough. His form was excellent from the off, as he became the league's top scorer for a long spell, despite being in a team sitting at the foot of the table. Former manager Smith came calling again in January 2012, snapping up the frontrunner for Hednesford after releasing misfiring forward Mark Danks earlier in the week. His goals at Burscough earned him a nomination for the 2011-2012 Evo-Stik Fans Player of the Year, making the final list of five alongside team-mate Cheyenne Dunkley
