. Attacking midfielder who joined the Pitmen for a third time in August 2008 after returning from the USA A much-travelled player in recent seasons, Briggs began his career as a junior at West Bromwich Albion, appearing in the same reserve side as former Pitman Ross Adams Moved to Danish football for a season with Herfløge, before returning to sign for Notts County. Released from Meadow Lane in the summer of 2004, he moved to AFC Telford, and also appeared on trial at AFC Bournemouth A short spell at the Bucks Head was followed by an equally brief stay at local rivals Shrewsbury Town, before joining Conference National side Northwich Victoria Headed to Redditch United towards the end of the 2004-2005 season, before joining T N S in the summer. After a short trial spell, he joined fellow Welsh side Welshpool in August 2005. Started off well at Hednesford after joining in December 2005, but faded as the club were relegated from Conference North and was released, where he moved on to Willenhall Town. Briggs hit the headlines in March 2007 by being offered a trial to play in the Major League Soccer in the USA, but after failing to gain a contract, returned to Keys Park in July 2007 After a fairly impressive pre-season with the Pitmen, Briggs shocked everyone at Keys Park by rejoining Willenhall two days before the start of the 2007-2008 season After playing out nearly the whole of the 2007-2008 season at Noose Lane, he made the switch to Chasetown in April 2008, finishing the season with the Scholars. Returned to the United States to link up with newly-formed Michigan-based franchise Kalamazoo Outrage, who played in the Premier Development League. His form saw him win Player of the Year after fourteen games, before he returned to Keys Park to play against Glasgow Rangers in the Pitmen's penultimate pre-season friendly Briggs has enjoyed a consistent campaign to date, with his ability to exploit opportunities at set-pieces a major factor behind the Pitmen's free-scoring first half of the season . | ||||||||||||||||
