Powerfully built centre back who rejoined the Pitmen in July 2010 after a brief trial at Hinckley United

A former trainee at Coventry City, Francis - nicknamed 'Spider' - he was spotted playing in Birmingham, playing for Great Barr Falcons before being offered a two year apprenticeship at the start of the 2006-2007 season

A regular in the Sky Blues reserves for the next two seasons, he made one substitute appearance for the first team, against Milwall in the F.A. Cup during the 2008-2009 season. Surprisingly released by the Sky Blues in March 2009, he joined Stratford Town for a short spell towards the end of the season, before linking up with Redditch in July 2009

Francis instantly became a first team regular at Redditch, slotting into defence with ease and weighing in with a number of goals. Indeed, he only missed one game for the Reds until interest from other clubs came to light, with Solihull Moors also in the hunt. It was Hednesford, however, who won the battle to sign Francis, with the player making an impressive debut in the 3-0 win at Clevedon Town. His impressive form helped the Pitmen into the play offs, scoring three goals in the process

Linked up with Blue Square Bet North side Hinckley United on trial during the summer of 2010, playing in the Knitters' 2-1 defeat to Barwell before deciding to rejoin the Pitmen ahead of their friendly at Stapenhill three days later
