Highly successful young manager who joined the Pitmen in October 2009 from Market Drayton Town

A former Arsenal schoolboy, he played in the same youth side as the likes of Andy Cole for the Gunners, before joining Crystal Palace as a first year professional. He failed to make a first team appearance for the Eagles, joining Brentford in a similar deal a year later. After again failing to break into the first team, he made the move to the United States, joining the famous Tampa Bay Rowdies

Upon his return to the UK, he enrolled into the University of Greenwich to qualify as a teacher. Whilst there, he turned out for a number of non-league teams in the area, including Kingstonian and Slough Town, who both had spells in the Conference

In April 2000, he made the move to Staffordshire, where he became a teacher in Barlaston, near Stoke. After a spell with the Stoke City Academy, he joined Market Drayton Town, initially as a player, before being promoted to assistant manager to Lee Roberts in 2003. Roberts moved on in 2005, leaving Line to take over the reins

Since then, Market Drayton have gone from strength to strength on the pitch, winning the West Midlands (Regional) Premier League in 2005-2006, before gaining a second promotion under Line in 2008-2009 by winning the Midland Alliance by eight points.  The 2009-2010 saw Market Drayton start the season at their highest level ever, in the UniBond Division One South, alongside established names such as Leek Town, Grantham Town and Stamford

Line has been successful in the cups too, winning the Shropshire Challenge Cup in 208-2009, and losing to a strong Shrewsbury Town side in the final of the Shropshire Senior Cup. They also made it through to the last sixteen of the F.A. Vase - the club's best ever run in the competition

2009-2010 also saw Market Drayton do well in the F.A. Cup, knocking out Zamaretto Premier League side Leamington away from home in the first qualifying round

His impressive CV was always going to catch the eye at Keys Park, with Line resigning his post at Market Drayton to take the job offer just ahead of Hednesford's home game with Merthyr Tydfil on October 10th
